Rosie Thomas concert

Last night my friend Carolyn and I went to see her at a small venue in Hollywood called Hotel Cafe. If you can magage to get a seat, this is a great venue. Rosie was terrific. And here's why... She totally compensates for the fact that all of her songs are slow and either sound depressing or actually are. She often made comments like "Ok, now we're going to take it down a notch" or "Here's one that'll get you up on your feet" Loved the sarcasm. She's hysterical in her mannerisms. (though I could picture Sinclair there and thinking that she was "unnecessary"). Her talking voice sounds like a 12 year old gymnast on speed. Listen to the song "Farewell"...she talks at the end of it, and until last night I thought it was a little kid speaking at the end. Nope. It was her. However, I think this voice only adds to her singing voice... I was continually amazed at her sound. Also to be noted... before the lead in singer played... Rosie did a short stand-up comedic monologue. She was dressed as a nerd, with retainers, pigtails, and suspenders. Carolyn and I kept thinking she was "almost" funny, but it wound up being more strange than anything else. I've never seen that done before. I would have died to see some of your reactions. It had "bordering on retardation" written all over it.

So now we're boarding on retardation as opposed to bordering on it?! Get it together, Nash.

yeah...sometimes my focus is elsewhere, like on making a TV show...and I misspell words.
