yeah yeah yeah... i know we're all in full swing "mix mode" right now, but in an attempt to keep things fresh and to offer something new to talk about if you're tired of the whole "i hate the boston song" thread, here's a new topic:
In the past month, what album(s) have you come across that's been so good that it's been almost impossible not to share it with all of your friends? What's the album that you definitely would've told everyone about if you weren't trying to create a mix full of music that no one's ever heard before?
discuss...

Yeah for a new topic. i am assuming this does not need to be anonymous...
i am currently obsessed with Andrew Bird's Armchair Apocrypha. I think i will listen to it now!
Just before the game started I spent a lot of time listening to Voxtrot's self titled debut. It doesn't come out for a few more weeks, but you can check it out now at Una Piel de Astracan.
I was telling Rebecca that I don't think it has any "must have" singles, but I really like the album as a whole. It definitely provides some solid driving-home music to fight L.A. traffic.
I like the new Bright Eyes EP as well as Joshua James, a guy I randomly came across who sounds very similar to Joshua Radin. I also have been listening to Ingrid Michaelson whose music is often featured on the apparently controversial soundtrack of Grey's Anatomy (let's not go there again). Any additional disclosures might give away my CD but more to come later!
I suddenly feel compelled (threatened?) to post a comment:
The ipod (ha..yahoo) culture really makes buying an entire album obsolete. And while there is great benefit in that...I miss KNOWING an album. Seriously, the last album I got to know was The Format (I and L).
All that to say, I have no comment at this juncture.
(ps..I-tunes has a great feature which I recently noticed, "completing an album"...where it will DL all the tracks left and for a discount)
I watched 'About A Boy' last night and it reminded me what an amazing soundtrack it has. It's pretty much completely done by Badly Drawn Boy and it's fantastic. Check it out.
I haven't really listened to any of their records, but Noisettes were surprisingly awesome opening for TV on the Radio on Sunday night. The few mp3's I had heard sounded like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, but they only vaguely sounded like them in concert. Might be worth checking out.
Also have been digging Parts & Labor - Mapmaker recently cause it brings the rawk and has some pretty great drumming as well.
Um...T-Real - do I spy a pre-7am post here? WTF? Anyways, the CDs I've been digging lately are the ones represented on my mix. Any more information than that would be classified.
Rebecca, Armchair Apocrypha does own. I'm so glad we share that opinion.
That time can't be right. I do not recall being up at that time in the past 3 years. I think the blog time is set to Pacific.
PDT actually
I stand (somewhat) corrected
